TRU has a new exchange with AVANS Hogeschool in the Netherlands. The Academy of Marketing and International Management at Avans University of Professional Education in the city of 's-Hertogenbosch welcomes you to join their applied program for one or two semesters as an exchange student. The city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch is located south east of Amsterdam. Today the city has a population of 125,000 and is one the country’s most important city from a historical, cultural and economic point of view. In addition, the city has an excellent transportation system making it easy for you to explore other cities such as Amsterdam (i.e., one hour by train), Maastricht, Paris, Berlin and London.

The program focuses on Trade Fair Management (Business-to-Business Selling) and International Purchase Management and is executed in the form of project education to solve real problems. The Trade Fair Management program is composed of areas in international sales techniques and management, industrial marketing, marketing communication and cultural as well as communicative aspects of international management. The international purchase management program is centered on cost price, management of purchases, international communication and international law.

The program is unique in that it combines traditional teaching methods (e.g., lectures, seminars and tutorials) with a project. The project requires students to resolve export and international purchase management issues of real businesses. Students work in teams of four persons of different nationalities on the project. At the end of the semester students are expected to produce a report which a company can base its policy at strategic, tactical and operational levels. The program is taught in English.
