Study in Japan

All TRU students applying to Study Abroad in Japan are welcome to apply for what is called the "JASSO" Scholarship.  This scholarship is awarded by the Japanese government to students studying in Japan for up to a year.  The scholarship provides adequate funding for the airline ticket from Canada, housing, and meal costs.  It is competitive and requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply.  Preference is given to those who have already completed Japanese language courses.

Bunkyo Gakuin University

-Location:  There are two campuses, both located in Tokyo.
-What you'll study: Arts and Humanities (in English) with a Japanese language option.
-Learn Japanese language and culture through a dedicated program for exchange students while living in one of the largest most dynamic cities in the world 

Hirosaki University

-Location: Aomori prefecture, situated at the northern end of Honshu Island.
-Large national university located in the north of the main island of Japan in the city of Hirosaki.  Established in the former castle town of Hirosaki in 1949.
-Extensive list of courses taught in English in addition to Japanese language studies.  

J.F. Obirin University

-Location:  Located in the suburbs of Tokyo (Machida) within easy commuting distance of Yokahama and central Tokyo.  
-What you'll study: Arts and Humanities (in English) with a Japanese language option. Reconnaissance Japan Program is an academic program for students who wish to learn about and personally experience Japan.  Japanese language skills and training courses from introductory to advanced. 

Kyoto Sangyo University

-Location:  Located in the ancient city of Kyoto, in the Kamigamo, Rakuhoku area.
-Programs: University Wide  
-7 faculties, 14 departments and 7 research centers on one campus. 
-Beautiful environment with a Japanese historical and cultural center on campus. 

Toyo University 

-Programs: University Wide 
-Four campus locations in Tokyo, Japan.  The largest is located in the central district and has a student population of 19,450
