at TRU
Sponsored by the Centre for Teaching and Learning and the TRU Deans. Related readings, presentations, and photos from the workshop are now available online.
Internationalization of the Curriculum is about educators engaging with student needs in relation to the world they will graduate into. Internationalizing curriculum strives to prepare all students with the intercultural and international perspectives they will need to succeed as citizens and professionals in today’s global environment.
In February of 2008 twenty faculty members’ names were put forward and supported by their Deans to participate in an intensive 3 day workshop on internationalization of the curriculum held in April. Participants represented 16 departments including: Business Management, Economics, Nursing, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, English and Modern Languages, English as a Second Language, Respiratory Therapy, Co-op and Career Education, Counselling, Tourism, Natural Resource Science, Instructional Design and Open Learning.
TRU VP Academic and Provost, Dr. Mark Everett addressed the group and emphasized the importance of the internationalization of our curriculum in every field.
