Associate of Commerce and
Business Administration Diploma

  • Associate Diplomas are awarded to recognize the achievements of students who have completed two years of academic work of which 30 credits must have been completed at TRU.
  • Students may earn an Associate of Commerce and Business Administration Diploma by completing the following course requirements with a minimum of a C grade in each course.
Humanities

ENGL 110 Composition; or

    ENGL 111 Introduction to Prose Fiction; or
    ENGL 121 Introduction to Drama and Poetry
PHIL 111 Introduction to Critical Thinking; or
    PHIL 201 Introduction to Ethics; or
    PHIL 221 Contemporary Moral Issues; or
    ENGL 229 Professional Business & Technical Writing; or
    SPEE 250 Business Presentations
Plus six (6) additional Humanities elective credits chosen from English, Fine Arts, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Speech, Theatre, History, Music and Philosophy.

Social Sciences

ECON 190 Principles of Microeconomics
ECON 195 Principles of Macroeconomics

Plus six (6) additional Social Science elective credits chosen from Anthropology, Canadian Studies, Economics, Education, Geography, Political Studies, Psychology and Sociology.

Science and Mathematics

MATH 140 Calculus for Commerce and the Social Sciences 1; or
    MATH 114 Calculus 1
MATH 141 Calculus for Commerce and the Social Sciences 2; or
    MATH 124 Calculus 2
Additional Science and Mathematics electives may be chosen from Biology, Chemistry, Computing Science, Physical Geography, Geology, Math, Physics, Statistics and Psychology.
