Bachelor of Science Degree

TRU offers three routes into this four-year degree program: a Major in a specific discipline, an Honours program (currently available only in Biology) or a General Science degree.

The Majors program is intended for students wishing to specialize in a single field of science. Majors are currently available in the following areas.

  • Animal Biology,
  • Biology,
  • Chemical Biology,
  • Ecology & Environmental Biology,
  • Chemistry,
  • Computing Science,
  • Environmental Chemistry,
  • Mathematics,
  • Mathematical Sciences and
  • Physics
The General Science Program gives students a broad education in science. The program offers students an opportunity to specialize in the third and fourth years in two or more areas of life science (biochemistry, biology, and microbiology), chemistry, mathematical and computing science, and physics. Graduates will be well prepared to pursue further studies in Education, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and more.

Students in a Major program may also complete a Minor in a discipline or disciplines outside their Major.

Bachelor of Science students have the option to pursue additional major options as visiting students at partner universities, including the University of British Columbia, in the following major subjects: Marine Biology, Conservation Biology, Plant Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Statistics, and Geology.
