Events and Conventions Management Diploma

Conventions and group events are one of the fastest growing segments of the tourist industry. This two-year diploma program is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge essential for the planning, organizing, promotion, management, and evaluation of successful festivals, conventions, trade shows, or similar events.

Wherever possible, students will learn by participating in or witnessing special events/conventions. Event planning is a very detailed process; this means that this program will most likely appeal you if you can combine attention to detail with the creative ability to “see the whole picture” of the event being staged. Successful events and conventions experts have the ability, partly drawn from their training and partly born of experience, to tackle several tasks at the same time.

Tourism programs at TRU have the strong support and commitment of industry. Graduates have found employment locally, nationally and internationally. Employment opportunities for our students have often arisen from the work practicums that are a part of the programs.
