Resort and Hotel Management Diploma
The goal of this two-year Resort and Hotel Management Diploma is to provide the hospitality industry with potential managers who have the technical skills to accomplish a variety of jobs within their operations while having the management skills and breadth of knowledge to take their business well into the twenty-first century. Consequently, the strength of this program is its mix of business, hospitality and tourism courses such as computing, marketing, rooms division management, wine appreciation, languages, and environmental issues which give the student both theory and hands-on experience in these areas.
Tourism programs at TRU have the strong support and commitment of industry. Graduates have found employment locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. Employment opportunities for our students have often arisen from the work practicums that are a part of our programs.

NOTE: Before graduating and in order to receive the Resort and Hotel Management Diploma, students must complete a minimum of 500 hours relevant work experience in the tourism industry. 300 hours will be taken from HMGT 100 and HMGT 200 (150 hours each) as a part of this total work experience requirement.
