English Teacher Training

TRU has emerged as an international centre for educational leadership and teacher training. The university delivers customized programs for several hundred trainees each year, often in cooperation with local school districts and/or other educational partners. These trainees undertake intensive studies, both in English language and in teaching techniques, at the TRU campus in Kamloops. They also participate in a range of cultural exchange and recreational opportunities.

Educational Leadership and Executive Training

Drawing upon its international project expertise and well-established School of Business, TRU designs and delivers specialized training programs for managers and executives. Currently, TRU trainers are hosting multiple groups of educators and school principals for English language upgrading and executive leadership training.

As with many of TRU's specialized programs, these trainees participate in a range of recreational and cultural exchange activities including, in some cases, professional placements with Canadian educators—and benefit from a wide range of accommodation options and support services.

Executive training clients at TRU include the Haidan Education District and the Xuhui District Government, both of the People's Republic of China.
